Abstract

The article is devoted to numerical simulation of conversion of gaseous hydrogen sulfide to elemental sulfur when passing through a reactor with a catalyst bed of honeycomb structure. Taking into account the regularity of the honeycomb structure, the catalyst bed is decomposed into identical cells, each of which contains a single channel with a porous wall of finite thickness. The process is described by the equations of heat conduction and diffusion, which are valid throughout the partition cell. The concentration profiles are calculated at various values of the Peclet numbers.
